For most families the summer is a time to relax and enjoy time off. Unfortunately, for families with a child with a developmental disability the summer can be a time to dread. The school year comes to an end and many Broward County residents with developmental disabilities (DD) are left with nothing to do during the day.

With this in mind, LIFE’s Board of Directors has decided to fund summer respite activities to both ease the burden on family members and to ensure that individuals with DD do not languish at home but are out in the community as active participants in all that Broward County has to offer.
